The 1,511 m² new school building is part of an existing campus, it serves as an expansion of the current building facilities.
our main objective was to design a building focused on serving the student and, by extension, its multiple users. At the same time, the design and construction had to be carried out within a very short period of time so that the complex could be completed and put into immediate operation. The layout and the size of the plot in turn imposed additional constraints on the design process.
A linear layout of the spaces proved to be the most efficient. In this way, classrooms, auxiliary areas, and staff facilities were organized linearly along the length of the plot and parallel to the main road in front of it, shaping an introverted courtyard protected from traffic noise and prying eyes. Between the courtyard and the main “body” of the building lies an open-type corridor that distributes movement to all spaces, both on the ground floor and the first floor. The corridor was kept open to ensure optimal natural lighting and ventilation of the classrooms during morning hours.
